Kevin Kleineweber appeared to on his way to his third straight Hughes Performance Top Dragster event title at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Pacific Division event at Auto Club Dragway when former Lucas Oil/K&N Super Comp Association series champion Bobby Dye Jr. stopped the division point’s leader in the final round. Dye strapped a brilliant .003 reaction time on the ace driver from the Jim Hughes Performance team, and handed Kevin his first Pacific Division Top Dragster loss of the season at the K&N Filters sponsored event.
