Infineon Raceway Wednesday Night Drag Racing Results. (March 24)
By Jim McCombe
After 3 events, the weekly Wednesday night drag racing series at Infineon
Raceway continues to produce upsets and surprises and last nights race found
the racing action dominated by 4 first time winners.
With the exception of John Victorino's repeat win from last week in Jack Pot
over a 20 car field and Steve Wellman's victory in Comp Rod, 4 new winners
emerged to claim class wins
They were Tyler Casha (High School) Kim Phillips (Sport Street) Ray Berry
(Motorcycle) and former High School stand out David Ginther who claimed his
first ever win in the Street class.
This was the 3rd week for 1320go.com live Timing which allows the avid drag
racing fan to follow all of the live action as it happens over the internet
on their home computer and has proven to be a huge success especially for
those who cannot get out to the track.
Details are being worked out to install a live action video camera as well
as a audio link according to electrical tech Dan DiVita and it is just a
matter of selecting the right equipment that will give us the top quality
video and audio that will meet our standards.

Houston Raceway Park supports move back to quarter-mile drag racing
HOUSTON (March 17) -- The general manager of Houston Raceway Park, Seth Angel, is hearing a clear message from his customers -- "Give us back the quarter mile!"
"The quarter-mile distance is a big part of the sport of drag racing," Angel said. "We're gearing up for the 23rd annual O’Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals and I've been jumping in and helping our staff with ticket sales over the phone and I can say without question that our fans want the NHRA to return to the quarter-mile. They tell us this over and over again.

Grand Bend Motorplex Dragway, in Grand Bend, Ontario.
One of the most exciting announcements to come out of the Benson Tour in 2009 was the fact that it would be kicking it's season off at Grand Bend Motorplex Dragway, in Grand Bend, Ontario.
Well, we hope that it does the same thing this year, as once again and for the second year in a row the Tour will begin its championship run at this very popular Southern Ontario facility.
Grand Bend Motorplex is considered one of the best drag strips in Canada, if not the very best. It plays host to one of the very few IHRA Nitro Jam National events in Canada, which probably tells you everything you need to know about the caliber of this race track.
